Sam Meekings is an acclaimed British writer and a widely-cited Creative Writing scholar. His first novel, Under Fishbone Clouds, about the collision between myth and history in modern China, was called "a poetic evocation of the country and its people" by the New York Times. He has received an Authors Foundation award from the Society of Authors, and his work has been featured on the BBC website, in The Independent, on Arena on Radio 1, and in the National Geographic. He currently works as an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Northwestern University in Qatar.
Dr. Amal Al-Malki is a Qatari scholar, educator, public speaker, social commentator, and advocate of women’s rights and gender equality.
