Qatar National Library will be organizing a cultural event on 21 September 2024 for authors based in Qatar, aimed at offering support and providing a platform to showcase their works and enhance community engagement.

The event will include a panel discussion highlighting the journey of local authors and the role of publishers in supporting them, fostering cultural identity and enhancing the creative scene in the country. The event will also offer local authors the opportunity to present their latest publications to the audience.

The organizing committee of the "Books and Authors" event is now inviting applications and book submissions from writers who would like to participate in the event.

Eligibility criteria:

1. Participating authors must be based in Qatar.
2. Submissions should include recent publications in either Arabic or English.
3. Books can be intended for children, young adults or adults.
4. Each author can nominate two of their recent publications.
5. Authors with self-published books can participate.
6. The organizing committee will make their selection based on the submitted proposals to ensure a diverse range of participants.
