DESCRIPTION:Qatar National Library will be organizing a cultural event on 21 September 2024 for authors based in Qatar\, aimed at offering support and providing a platform to showcase their works and enhance community engagement.\nThe event will include a panel discussion highlighting the journey of local authors and the role of publishers in supporting them\, fostering cultural identity and enhancing the creative scene in the country. The event will also offer local authors the opportunity to present their latest publications to the audience.\nThe organizing committee of the "Books and Authors" event is now inviting applications and book submissions from writers who would like to participate in the event.\nEligibility criteria:\n\nParticipating authors must be based in Qatar.\nSubmissions should include recent publications in either Arabic or English.\nBooks can be intended for children\, young adults or adults.\nEach author can nominate two of their recent publications.\nAuthors with self-published books can participate.\nThe organizing committee will make their selection based on the submitted proposals to ensure a diverse range of participants.\n\nTo apply\, please click here and complete this form before 15 August 2024.Please note that this event will be conducted in Arabic\, but simultaneous interpretation into English will be provided.\nSubmission Dates: 1 July - 15 August 2024 \nEvent date: 21 September 2024\nLanguage: Arabic and English \nTarget Audience: Authors in Qatar
