Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism in Qatar

Join us for this talk to listen to a critical analysis of Doha’s urban megaprojects and iconic architectural landmarks, in addition to local and traditional architecture and urbanism. Projects presented will include Education City, the Museum of Islamic art, Qatar National Museum, Msheireb, and traditional souqs and neighborhoods.

The lecture will be presented by Professor Ali A. Alraouf, an architect, urban designer, critic and academic who is currently Training, Research and Capacity Development Coordinator in the Urban Planning Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning and a visiting professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.

The discussion will be held via Zoom in English with simultaneous interpretation in Arabic.
