Watermarks Lecture Series: Studying Time Periods for Watermarks Through Paper and Electronic Indexes

2021.3.15 16:00

Online via Microsoft Teams

This lecture discusses the most important watermark indexes, the forms used in each index, and the studied time periods in each paper or electronic index. For example, the Briquet's Index covers watermarks from 1282 to 1600 AD. What are forms that are listed in Charles-Moïse Briquet's encyclopedia on watermarks? This lecture will assist researchers to shorten the time spent searching for the date of scribing a manuscript that includes a specific watermark by directly previewing the index that contains the watermark under study without wasting time searching within all the indexes.
