We invite you to join an exclusive session of Science Book Forum where we discuss for the first time the OASIS mission, a collaboration between NASA and Qatar Foundation that will study the planet's drier ecosystems. The planet's drier ecosystems are an extreme study: they could be extremely hot, sandy areas like the Sahara Desert, or extremely cold glaciers, like those in Greenland and Antarctica. This joint effort between NASA and Qatar Foundation aims to discover and monitor underground freshwater sources called aquifers. Many aquifers in the deserts of North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, among other regions, are being rapidly depleted to support the needs of local communities.
The event will be conducted on line via Dr. Essam Heggy's Facebok page.
