2025.4.15 17:30

In collaboration with the Embassy of Italy, the Library will host an event highlighting the deep-rooted historical ties between Italy and the Arab world.

The special guest will be Professor Amedeo Feniello, Professor of Medieval History at the University of L’Aquila, who will join a panel discussion exploring the enduring relationship between Italy and the Arab world—from the Middle Ages to the present, with a forward-looking perspective.

He will be in conversation with H.E. Paolo Toschi, Ambassador of Italy to Qatar. The discussion will be moderated by Al Jazeera journalist Hoda Abdel Hamid, and will delve into how this historical bond continues to influence current policies and shape future trends.

Prof. Letizia Lombezzi, an Italian professor of Arabic language, will deliver a brief talk exploring nautical terminology that found its way from Arabic into Greek, and later into Italian.

The event will be conducted in Italian, with simultaneous interpretation available in English.
