International humanitarian law and international human rights law are seen by many as one law, perhaps because of similar phrasing. Both laws do complement one another and share the same rights. However, they are independent of each other, and at times, both laws are applied.
In this lecture, Dr. Sama Alshawi of the Ministry of Justice's National Commission on International Humanitarian Law will highlight the difference between the two types of law, including their sources and applications, as well as the relationship between them.
