Night of Poetry is an international event created in 2016 by the Arab World Institute in Paris, in memory of the Paris attacks of November 2015. This year’s edition will celebrate poetry in Arabic, Bambara, French and Wolof under the theme “Flavors and Aroma.” Readers include poets from the French Institute of Qatar and the Embassy of Senegal, a poet from Mali, and local Arabic poets. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Yassine Ayari. Night of Poetry Doha 2019 is a collaboration between the Library, l’Institut français du Qatar, the Embassy of Senegal in Qatar, the Embassy of Mali in Qatar and the Qatar Poetry Center “Diwan Al Arab” of the Qatar Ministry of Culture and Sports.
