SUMMARY:Online Technology Camp
DESCRIPTION:The Library is collaborating with Studio 5/6\, an initiative by the Ministry of Transport and Communication\, to deliver the first Online Technology Camp in April. Studio 5/6 is a digital fabrication laboratory designed to teach students the principals of digital fabrication and electronics. The online camp is for children ages 7 to 18 and will cover the following topics: electronics\, coding\, 3D design\, gaming and machine learning. Participants will attend through the Microsoft Teams platform.\nPlease refer to the description of each session to learn more about the program.\nParticipants need to register for the sessions as per the age assigned for each workshop.\nDigital Arduino (ages 11 – 18): Participants will use TinkerCAD\, free online software to develop 3D modeling and simulate electronic components\, to learn how to build a circuit controlled by Arduino and simulate the sensors online.\nTalk to the World (ages 7 – 10): In this workshop\, participants will use Scratch software to create an animated experience or scene in which they can send messages to each other. \nGrocery Run (ages 7 – 14): In this workshop\, participants will build a 3D grocery shop with food displays. They will also program a character to collect the food at a specific time.\nAI for the Oceans (ages 7 – 10): Students will be introduced to machine learning\, a type of artificial intelligence\, and explore how training data is used to enable a machine learning model to classify new data.\nDate: 17 – 21 April 2020\nTime: 2:00 – 2:40 PM\nLanguage: English\nTarget Audience: Ages 7 – 18 \nSpots are limited\, please click the button below to register.\n
