DESCRIPTION:In this book reading and signing session\, Dr. Louay Safi\, professor of political science and Islamic thought at HBKU\, will introduce his book\, read a synopsis\, and sign the paperback edition of his book: Islam and the Trajectory of Globalization (Routledge\, 2023).\nThe book addresses two interrelated long-term global processes that continue to shape modern society. The first is Islamic rationalism which evolved in early Muslim civilizations and facilitated the rise of modern institutions\, particularly religious pluralism\, moral autonomy\, accountability of power holders\, and the scientific enterprise at the foundation of modern society.
