SUMMARY:Andalusi Recipes: Live Cooking Show
DESCRIPTION:The Library is pleased to host a live cooking show highlighting Al-Andalusi recipes and celebrating this fantastic culinary legacy that influences Spanish cuisine even today. The cooking show will be hosted by Juan Ramón Sobero\, head chef at the La Liga Lounge at the Sheraton Grand Doha\, and Inés Eléxpuru\, author of Cooking in Al-Andalus and Al-Andalus: Culinary Magic and Seduction.\nAl-Andalusi cuisine was highly developed\, using plants and seasonings previously unknown in the region. Many recipe books were also written\, which survive today.\nThis workshop is part of the exhibition “Gardens of Al-Andalus\,” created by the Islamic Culture Foundation in Madrid and hosted by the Library until 24 September\, shows the Spanish Muslim garden from different perspectives. In the Al-Andalusi period\, hundreds of botanic species from the East were introduced and acclimatized to Spain.
