SUMMARY:Scripts From Qatar’s History
DESCRIPTION:Historical scripts are one of the most significant forms of evidence for understanding Qatar history. This lecture will highlight personal letters and signatures from famous Qatari historical figures\, which reflect the country’s social and economic life. The lecture will also discuss Mus'haf Al Zubara\, one of the oldest examples of calligraphic writing that has been found in Qatar.\nThe lecture will be divided into two sessions:\nFirst Session - Mus'haf Al Zubara:\nObaida Mohammed Saleh Banki\, the calligrapher who wrote Mus'haf Qatar\, will present on Mus'haf Al Zubarah\, the Qur’an manuscript written in Qatar by Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al-Muraikhi.\nSecond Session - Highlights of Scripts from Qatar:\nSheikh Dr. Khalid bin Ghanim Al Thani\, Director of Qatar History Department – Cultural Village Foundation (Katara)\, will give a lecture about his book Journals of the Rulers of Qatar.
