We invite parents, educators, and those interested in parenting and child development to join our ِArabic book discussion sessions. Come talk about books that have had an impact on your parenting or teaching methods, and share interesting parenting tips or the latest studies in learning and parenting.
You can share and discuss your favorite book or borrow from our collection.
In this session, our information services librarian will lead the discussion on the following book:
Book Title: Children Are From Heaven
Author: John Gray
The book focuses on five messages of positive upbringing and shows how we can educate children to be cooperative, confident and sympathetic.
You can also borrow the following books from our User Services Desk. The loan period for these books has been extended to six weeks.
Book Title: Try and Make Me
Author: Ray Levy
The book includes different approaches that help parents show love and avoid conflict when dealing with strong-willed, defiant children. It also provides instructions and practical ways to help children be cooperative, less stubborn and more obedient.
Book Title: How Much Is Enough?
Authors: Jean Illsley Clarke, Connie Dawson, David Bredehoft
This book alerts parents to signs of overindulgence for their children and how to find the proper balance with discipline; it includes some tips to establish firm and consistent rules.
Book Title: Do Not Sleep Sad, Son! (in Arabic)
Author: Dr. Abdullah Mohamed Abdulmoaty
The book has hundreds of practical ideas and tips to limit the sadness of children during the day, at night and while they sleep, so that the house becomes a secure oasis where the child feels safety and happiness.
Book Title: Dim Sum for Great Parenting: Tips for Parents
Author: John Ng
The book includes practical concepts about parenting that can develop parental skills and overcome children's differences.
