In this talk, Dr. Rana Dajani will share her inspiring journey as a scientist, mother, educator, social innovator and activist. Through personal stories and cultural wisdom, she will guide the audience in reimagining success, embracing change and creating a better world for humanity and Earth. The session aims to empower young learners, provide role models for female change-makers from the Global South, and foster a mindset of resilience. 

Dr. Dajani is a globally recognized molecular biologist, social entrepreneur and advocate for science education and women's empowerment in the Arab world. She is a professor of biology and biotechnology at the Hashemite University in Jordan and holds a Ph.D. in molecular cell biology from the University of Iowa. Dr. Dajani is also the founder of We Love Reading, a grassroots initiative that promotes reading for pleasure among children by training local volunteers to read aloud in their communities. 

Her research in epigenetics and genetics, particularly on the genetics of diabetes and cancer, has earned her several awards and fellowships, including the Eisenhower Fellowship, Fulbright, and membership of the United Nations Women Jordan Advisory Council.

Dr. Dajani is also known for her influential work on the intersection of science and religion and the role of women in STEM. She has been listed among the World's 100 Most Powerful Arab Women and named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy by Apolitical.
