Biodiversity Extinction in the Climate Change Era

2021.3.24 18:30

Online via Microsoft Teams

Biodiversity is a critical measure of the Earth's health. Ironically, maintaining biodiversity levels and functioning ecosystems is critical to ameliorating climate change, yet climate change is expected to cause serious disruptions to Earth's ecological systems, resulting in an overall loss of biodiversity and a reduction of valuable goods and services provided to humans. To discuss this grave and worrying situation, Tina Birmpili, Deputy Executive Secretary of United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will share recent research findings. Qatar National Library and Arab Youth Climate Movement Qatar is co-organizing this event as a part of the Earth Talks series. The event will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams.
