Have you imagined how much you could do with 3D printing? Then bring your innovative ideas to life in a 3D design competition to share your creativity with the world at the first 3D printing competition held at Qatar National Library.
Who Can Enter?
- Participation is open to middle schools, grades 6-10. Anyone who can design 3D objects can participate
- Registration is free
- Each student may submit only one project
- Students can enter the competition as part of a team – however, the limit is three students per team
How to Submit
- To submit your design, send us an email to innovationstation@qnl.qa specifying your group and attaching your .STL file
- The name of the STL file should follow the following format <QNL3D-Challenge-Your first and last name.STL>
- The deadline to submit your files is Saturday, 21 April 2018
The announcement date for the 3D Challenge will be on Saturday, 05 May 2018
Guidelines
- The overall size of the 3D Printing Competition model must be no larger than (215 x 215 x 200 mm), the minimum wall thickness is 2 mm, and the maximum wall thickness is 5 mm
- Students will not have direct access to QNL 3D printers, however QNL will be responsible for printing the 3D objects for the 3D competition
- Parents and adults can be advisors but shall not have any hands-on-involvement
- By entering this competition, you A) Confirm that your submission is your own original work. B) Certify that your submission has not been in production or otherwise previously published or exhibited. C) Neither the work nor its use infringes on intellectual property rights (whether a patent, utility model, functional design right, aesthetic design right, trade mark, copyright, or any other intellectual property right) of any other person.
- Qatar National Library reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the terms and conditions
- Items printed for the 3D Challenge that are not picked up within 15 days after being printed become the property of the Library. These items will be used for display purposes or could be recycled.
Prizes
There will be prizes for the top three winners presented at an awarding ceremony.

The challenge will be judged based on specific criteria based on a scale of 1-5

Support Offered
QNL will provide support sessions for 3D printing and modeling twice a week for 1 hour each, on 10, 11, and 12 April 2018.
