Syria Under the French Mandate, a Library exhibition in partnership with the Museum of Islamic Art, focuses on Syria from 1918 – 1946, a time when France fulfilled the role of a controlling power in the area.
The Exhibition consists of two sections. The first section presents the political events in the area between 1918 – 1925, and the treaties and subsequent developments that followed. The second section is dedicated to exploring the French influence on the legacy of Syrian heritage, including the role of the national museum, the French Institute of Archaeology and other institutions.
