Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart mastered many genres, and mixed ensembles of winds and strings are no exception. His Flute and Oboe Quartets date from his early 20s, and with Mozart that already means compositional maturity. The Clarinet Quintet, written two years before his death, is universally regarded as one of his masterpieces.
