We're hosting a three-day intensive masterclass on historical nonfiction. The idea is to offer tools and techniques for amateur and young writers to focus on historical nonfiction using the archives of Qatar National Library, Qatar Museums and other international sources to write about the Gulf region.
The first day of the workshop will focus extensively on archives, and where and what to look for. The second and third days will mostly examine character development, narrative writing and publishing principles, etc.
This workshop is restricted to participants who have published previously and are interested in writing about Gulf history. Only selected participants will be invited to the event. Rakhshanda Jalil (historian) and Anita Burdett (archivist) will be conducting the masterclass.
