Islamic Calligraphy Workshop

The calligraphy workshop aims to teach participants the art of calligraphy and decorative manuscript illumination and provide them with opportunities to develop their skills and inspire them to further creativity and artistic expression.
This workshop is part of the "Art of the Book Series".

About the instructor: Shahryanshah Sirajuddin is a master calligrapher and educator. He graduated from the Faculty of Islamic Law of Al-Azhar University, Egypt in 2009. In Egypt, he received his Ijazah for Riq’a, Diwani, and Diwani Jali scripts from Sheikh Belaid Hamidi. He received his Ijazah in Arabic calligraphy and was honored in a ceremony organized by IRCICA (the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture).

Shahryanshah has a passion for teaching calligraphy and through his unique approach he has built on traditional methods. Shahryanshah teaches students from all over the world and collaborates with various entities such as the Muhibbi Sanat Gallery in Istanbul and Deen Arts Foundation based in the USA.
