Dorothy C. Ogdon, Head of Emerging Technology and System Development at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Libraries, will discuss how machine learning and artificial intelligence have the potential to bring significant change to the way we organize and interact with information.
This session will introduce artificial intelligence as a technology and will include examples of library-initiated projects that utilize machine learning in the United States and Europe. Ms. Ogdon will also share her predictions about ways students and scholars may use these technologies to enhance their future work and where libraries might integrate approaches to automation to enhance services and operations.
