Qatar National Library, as the IFLA MENA Regional Office, invites you to "Librarians for Libraries" program, which aims to develop librarianship skills in the MENA region through virtual sessions covering a variety of topics.
This session, "Creating a Makerspace in Your Library," explores the concept and history of makerspaces and provides a step-by-step guide to establishing one from scratch. The workshop will highlight the role of makerspaces in fostering innovation and community engagement while offering practical insights into their creation, from ideation to final design. It will also introduce a variety of modern tools and technologies, including 3D printers, laser cutters and virtual reality, along with effective strategies for resource organization, staff training and community involvement.
