75 Years since the Nakba: Archiving as a Tool to Promote Existence and Identity

Marking the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, Qatar National Library has organized a symposium titled "75 Years since the Nakba: Archiving as a Tool to Promote Existence and Identity" in cooperation with the Khazaen Foundation for Community Archives.

Ikhlas Ahmed, Tour & Exhibition Officer at QNL, will firstly present a brief overview of the Heritage Library’s collection of items   related to the written history of Palestine.

In the webinar, Fadi Asleh, who specializes in writing Palestinian rural history as a parallel source for reading Palestinian history, will discuss the importance of archiving through the work of the Khazaen Foundation.

The webinar will discuss the value of re-collecting and re-reading archives with the aim of learning and consolidating strengths and developing projects directed towards building knowledge

About Khazaen: Khazaen is a community archive that documents people’s stories by collecting materials and short-term publications (brochures, flyers, invitations, posters, documents) in addition to photos from Palestine and the Arab world.
