In collaboration with Little Thinking Minds, the Children’s Library is pleased to announce the Summer Reading Challenge!

Seize what is left of the summer and encourage your kids to read. Summer reading helps avoid summer reading loss, better known as the summer slide.

Challenge finishers will receive special prizes to enjoy, including various books to read and own, certificates, and more.

Registration

• The applicant must be a member of the Library.
• The registration date will start from 1 - 14 July 2022.
• The challenge starts the following day on 15 July and will end on 5 August.
• Winners will be announced in September 2022.

The challenge

• Fill out the subscription form to receive credentials for your child, and make sure you use a valid phone number and email address.
• Use your credentials to access the special account and let your child complete the assessment.
• The participant should read at least 10 books from their level.
• The participant should choose two books they’ve enjoyed reading and send a recorded video mentioning the titles of the three books and their authors. The child should also elaborate on their choices mentioning the reason/s for choosing these books.
• The duration of the video should not exceed one minute.
• Winners will be selected based on their age group:
  o 7-9
  o 10-11
  o 12-14
